While attending a large family reunion, I was introduced to something I had never heard of before. When my cousin described what the activity consisted of, I had serious doubts about what was to come. Deciding to at least close my eyes and relax for awhile, almost immediately, I felt the inside of my head open up and accept the sound vibrations. Having some music training, I began analyzing the tone quality, the intervals between the notes and different dynamics in the sounds. But then, I realized that what I really needed to do was to stop thinking and let the sound provide therapy and healing.
